A major part of progression in Gray Zone Warfare is the Tasks you can collect from vendors. Completing these will grant you various tasty rewards that go a long way in keeping you alive in Lamang. However, completing Tasks is often easier said than done. The Gray Zone Warfare Rat’s Nest quest is proving particularly troublesome.

Tasking players with gathering intelligence from two different hideouts, you’ve got your work cut out for you if you’re looking to complete Rat’s Nest in Gray Zone Warfare. First off, the Gray Zone Warfare map is huge and getting around takes time - especially if you’re playing it safe. To make matters worse, your Gray Zone Warfare faction also influences how you solve Tasks. So, to help you out no matter what faction you’re a part of, here’s a full guide on how to beat Gray Zone’s Rats Nest quest.

How to Complete Gray Zone Warfare Rat’s Nest Task

To complete the Rat’s Nest quest in Gray Zone Warfare, you must find two intelligence documents in the city closest to your faction’s base camp. One is located upstairs inside a house behind the Convenience Store, and the other is in a house to the right of Town Hall, across the road from the Marketplace site.

The items you are looking for are the Convict’s Notepad and the Thug's Smartphone, both of which are placed on desks inside the relevant houses. Take note that these items will take up space in your inventory. To complete Rat’s Nest, you need to bring these back to Handshake, so you’ll have to make sure you have enough room to carry them. Thankfully, they only take two spaces each.

Keep an eye out for the graffiti on the walls of both buildings housing the intelligence for the Rat's Nest quest.

As mentioned, the city you need to go to will be different depending on your faction. However, each faction’s starting city is mirrored, meaning all you have to do is find the relevant landmarks and you’re good to go. You’ll know you’ve found the right building when you see the large graffiti tag on the building’s wall. Here are the intelligence locations for the Rat’s Nest quest for each faction.

Lamang Recovery Initiative - Pha Lang:

If you joined the Lamang Recovery Initiative, make your way over to these locations.

Since these cities are next to their respective faction’s home base, it’s quick and easy to collect the items you need. Plus, since these locations are on the outskirts of the map, you’re unlikely to find enemy players - though AI enemies will still be patrolling, so keep your guard up.

Once you’ve gathered the documents, call for transport and extract back to your base camp where you can then turn in and complete the Rat’s Nest Task.

Gray Zone Warfare Rat’s Nest Rewards

For successfully handing in the Rat’s Nest quest in Gray Zone, you will earn:

  • Patrol bag
  • 3,600 USD
  • 400 XP
  • Handshake vendor reputation

While it requires a bit of legwork to complete, the rewards for completing Rat’s Nest are more than fair. After all, you don’t have to venture into the center of the map so you’re relatively safe all things considered. If you’re having a hard time though, I recommend you head into the Gray Zone Warfare PvE mode, Joint Operations, where things are a little calmer and you’re more likely to find allies.

With Gray Zone Warfare Rat’s Nest done and dusted, you can take your new loot on your next run into Lamang. Just remember that the Gray Zone Warfare wipe system will eventually reset your equipment. So, don’t be afraid to take good loot with you, as the Patrol bag will be great for hauling even more equipment back next time.
